Tutti Frutti Candy Cane Stripes

No work today, there's a blizzard going on and I'm stuck home, not even going to try to swim through the snow to my car, which is also snowed in deep.
I thought I would use the opportunity and practice my freehand lines, I bought a ton of nail art brushes from Borne Pretty Store a while ago and I've been dying to use them.

I take all my pictures in natural light and because of the gloomy weather the pics aren't that great today but I still want to show you guys my candy cane stripes.

Polishes used:
OPI - Kiss Me I'm Brazilian
Orly - Blue Collar
OPI - Red Hot Rio

Oh and thanks for all the lovely comments, I read every one and for the most part always answer back but I realized today that the new layout won't let me reply to your comments, I'm pretty bummed out by that and I probably have to change that soon and after all the work I put into this it feels crappy...
Just thought I'd let you know why I'm not answering your comments.

A VERY late Halloween post - Comic Book Nails and my Costume

There, I did it again, no blog post since October. I've been extremely busy with school, work and just life in general and I haven't been able to paint my nails so the state they're in right now isn't pretty.

I went as a comic book girl on Halloween and of course I had to do my nails as well.

Polishes used:
OPI - La Paz-itively Hot
OPI - Who Are You Calling Bossy?!?
OPI - Alpine Snow

 Bonus picture of them glossy.

And lastly my comic book girl costume, very home made, did the sign myself and used acrylic paint to paint my face, after many tries with many different materials the paint was the only thing that would stick. Used he round eraser at the tip of a pencil to do the white dots and did everything else with a small paint brush.

Cobwebs and Spiders

This became a one big mess!! I'm investing in a better striping brush today because the ones I own are crap.
I started with the cobwebs and thought that it was going great, then I decide to do a spider, BIG fail.
I still decided to post it, you know, the good, the bad and the ugly ;)

When I get the new striping brushes I'm ordering from Born Pretty Store there will be a point two
take on this one.

Polishes used:
Alessandro - Ice Cream Bar Lime/Vanilla
OPI - Orange You Stylish!

Peppermint Taffy

The boutique I work in is a little bit out of town and is right next to a shop called the Christmas Garden and as the name says its full of Christmas-y things and is open all year round.
One of the things the Christmas garden is famous for here is their considerable variety of taffy caramels that come in many tastes and colors.
I try not to go in there so often because the caramels call to me, they tell me to eat them all (!!!!), but for rare special occasions when I want to treat myself  I go and buy a (mountain of them) a few I and always think to myself that they are perfect nail art inspiration and if I can contain myself and won't eat them all at once, I could do a series of taffy inspired nail art. What do you think? Good idea?

But anyway, on to the nail art.
Here's the first one, peppermint taffy.

Polishes used:
OPI - Alpine Snow
Essie - Peach Daiquiri

I'm eating the caramel as I'm writing this, it's heavenly!

A Makeover!

As you can probably see if you follow my blog I gave it a makeover, I've been blogging now for over a year and thought it was time for a change. New layout, much simpler and cleaner than the standard blogger one I had but still with a splash of pink to it, and added social media buttons so it would be easier to follow or contact me. I can't say that I'm one hundred percent happy with it but it'll do for now.

Tell me what you think.

Fall Is Almost Over

It started snowing today and I got a little melancholy over it, I'm not a snow person, maybe it has something to do with the fact that I have fibromyalgia and snow means cold, cold means pain.
In my desperation over the snow I got out my fall color polishes and decided I needed to use them before winter starts for real.

This is what I came up with.

Polishes used:
Essie - In Stitches
E.L.F. - Pot Of Gold
E.L.F. - Mod Mauve
American Apparel - Peacock
American Apparel - Crescent Heights
The New Black - Black striper

Juicy Tomatoes

After the September-challenge craziness I'm trying to set myself blogging goals and actually following them through, this is not the first time I finish a challenge and then fall into a blogging rut, don't know what to blog about and what to paint on my nails, also up until now I've only posted sporadically, whenever the mood strikes or I do a pretty manicure, but now I want to put a little more effort into it and see how that goes.

For starters I've started several inspiration books where I can write things like prompts and themes, color schemes and trying to plan ahead for Christmas, Halloween, future challenges and such or if I don't know what to do I can look into my inspiration books and find something I like and want to try.
Well we'll see how that goes.

These are juicy tomatoes, I actually don't like tomatoes that much, the texture or something, I'm not sure, doesn't go well with me but I like these I did on my nails.
Are tomatoes fruits or vegetables?

Polishes used:
OPI - Alpine Snow
OPI - Cajun Shrimp

31DC2014 Day 31 - Honor Nails You Love

THE LAST DAY AF THE CHALLENGE!!!
Thought this sentence deserved cap locks.
It's been a fun but difficult month filled with empty bottles of polish remover, dirty paintbrushes, lots of scotch tape and headaches over nail polish fumes, but it's over and at the same time I'm so glad it's over I'm also sad because I had so much fun and now I have to go find my own prompts, lol.
I'm giving myself a promise that I'll keep a better schedule (blog vise) now than before the challenge, I just have to stop procrastinating so much and just do things.

For this last one I decided to recreate Glitter Fingersss's Half Moons. I only recently started following her blog but every nail design she does blows me away.

Polishes used:
Cult Nails - Thrive
Kleancolor Nail to Toe striper - Beaming Pink

31DC2014 Day 30 - Inspired By A Tutorial

Keeping with the same theme as yesterday I followed this tutorial Here.
Again The Silence in a suit from Doctor Who ;)

When I took these photos I thought that it would be okay to just keep my regular hand pose with the thumb at the bottom and then just flip them on Picasa,
little did I know they would turn out so awkward after I rotated them so there are not that many pics.

Polishes used:
Alessandro - Midnight Black
OPI - Alpine Snow
OPI - Taupe-less Beach
The New Black - unnamed nude

31DC2014 Day 28 - Inspired By A Flag

I wasn't that inspired doing these, I'm sick and just not in a good mood so this is not my best work, a little sloppy and all over the place.
I didn't choose one specific flag, I made this thinking of fall so I went with a fall-y palette.
